Thanks Dad

Thanks to Mike, when you ask Noah what he says when he has to go poop he will tell you "I gotta drop a deuce!"

I cant wait till he says that at daycare, they are going to laugh their asses off, as did I when he told me that the first time.

In other potty related issues, I think Noah is slowly working his way towards potty training.  May I emphasize slowly.  He still doesn't go on the potty to pee (even though I have not been the most proactive with it either) But everytime he pees he tells me and HATES being wet lately.  This is a good thing for future things to come (like him not shitting his pants anymore) but lots more work for Mommy.  Its not like I can let him sit in his pee cause I am too tired, lazy, unmotivated, or busy to change it....but sometimes I desperately want to.  Like when its 7:55am and we are about to walk out the door for school and he goes "I did pee pee"  Its like "really kid....You couldn't have done that like 10 minutes ago?"

However, he will sometimes sit in his poop when he is playing and the only way I know he crapped himself is when I walk into his room and get a nasty whiff of something foul.  So like I said...we are slowly  getting there.

One Flaw

God doesn't give you the people you want, He gives you the people you NEED.
To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you into the person you were meant to be.

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

However, if there is one flaw in women, it is that they forget their worth.

Swim class take 3 and a Happy Momma's Day

I had an awesome weekend!  We had our third swim class and Noah is slowly getting the hang of the whole swim thing and going in the water.  My plan of psyching him up for it the night before has seemed to be working, but he loves to throw Mommy a curve ball now and then and wait till we are in the car on the way there, to tell me he doesn't want to go.  One thing I have learned you can always count on with a toddler...... their unpredictability.  One minute he will be super excited to go, then the next its a full out tantrum and battle....this definitely keeps me on my toes.

A few highlights from swim class that Noah didn't do last time:
  • He actually put his face in the water and blew bubbles!  The teacher looked at me and gave me the thumbs up sign when he did this too!
  • He let me put him on one of the water mats while he sat there and played with the water squirties with another little girl.  He also decided to introduce me to this little girls dad.  "Hi, this is my mom" he goes.
  • We swam across the pool and he held on to the side  - only with one had but last time he wouldn't even let go of me.
  • I was able to throw him up in the air without him screaming "NOOOOO"
  • He didn't want to leave!  And he tells me he LOVES swimming.
  • He left his wetsuit shirt on this time.

A few more things we have to work on.
  • He will not yet jump in.
  • I can not let go of him of put him in any other position other then carry him on my hip.  Mommy is getting a work out too!
  • He LOVES to scream when he doesn't want me to do something.  But he also screams when he is excited too.

I am so very proud of him because this has been a big fear of his.  I also noticed when we sing, I try and get him as involved as possible, then he usually forgets we are wet and starts to enjoy it.

His dad picked him up later in the day and took him to the store to get me a Mothers Day gift.  When he dropped him off, Noah is standing there with a gift bag and a cute little smile on his face and goes "Happy Mother's Day Mommy"........My heart wanted to melt!!  Sunday morning we hung out at home and just relaxed, which is so nice to do sometimes because we are always rushing out the door for school/work or swim class.  My mother came up too which was nice.  In the evening we went out with my dad and Gina and ate some yummy Indian food.  Noah also had a gift waiting for me at their house which he was so excited for me to open...I think he thought it was a present for him, lol.  He got me lovely "Mom" necklace which I love and the chocolates from daddy will be long gone by the end of the day.

It was such a wonderful day, I couldn't have asked for anything better then spending it with the ones I love.

Note to self

Next time you are at the supermarket, try and refrain from contemplating smacking the stupid cashier upside his head when he asks "would you like a bag for your gallon of milk?" when he clearly sees me struggling to get my wallet out and control my child.  How the hell does he think I am going to carry it along with my kid and 10 other bags of groceries if its not in a bag??  Jerk!

Swim class take 2

We had a successful trip to swim class this past Saturday. I decided to get there early so Noah had time to warm up to whole idea of getting in the water. He LOVES the idea of going swimming, but when it comes to actually doing it, he wants nothing to do with it. He was super excited to go in and when we went into the pool area, and he was still super excited. This was a complete change from the following week when my dad took him. He wanted noting to do with it right from the start....he wouldn't even go through the revolving doors to get into the pool area. I picked him up and walked right into the pool which was like bath water and so nice. He seemed hesitant but was ok as long as the water wasn't touching him. Then the teacher handed out cups and I asked if he wanted to splash me and pour water on my head. He loved that idea. I asked him if I could pour water on him and he gave me a big fat "no!" So we continued to do the whole water pouring thing and I tried to get him wet, which he didn't like, but I did it anyway and told him it was ok. We didn't do everything the class was doing partly because he resisted getting anything other then his feet wet and we were supposed to go across the pool which was not happening. The whole time he was telling me he wanted out and was clenching onto me for dear life, he also screamed "no, no, no" anytime we did something he didn't like, but I didn't give up and kept him in there.

Its new to him and very different, but I think he did an awesome job and was so proud of him that we were able to complete the class without a major meltdown. I looked at the other kids who were about his age and some of them were jumping in and they looked like they were having so much fun, and I want that for Noah as well. I asked the teacher if she thought it was something I should continue to do with him or give up because he didn't like it. She told me that she has seen kids much worse and one of the boys in the class also hated it when he started, he just wasn't yelling "no" as loud as Noah. She also told me that some parents look at swimming as something kids need to learn as a safety issue, while others could care less if they knew how to swim. It was completely up to me as to whether or not I wanted to pursue it with him and I am going to. I told him I was very proud of him and took him out for ice cream afterwards which he was very happy about. Then I asked him if he had a good time and wanted to go back and he said "yes!!"

I also noticed how out of my class of 10, there was only 1 other mom besides myself. I guess that is one class the dads don't mind taking the kids to in hopes of seeing some ladies in bathing suits!
