Birth Order of Children

Another email I got that I had to share because it was too funny. As for the pacifier, I already wipe Noah's off on my shirt (or put it in my mouth to clean it. I know you are probaly thinking thats gross, and why would I put those nasty germs in my mouth, but I am sure in the course of our lives alot of crap goes in our mouth that isnt going to kill us. I would rather ingest it then have him. And for those out there with dirty ideas...get your minds out of the gutter)

BIRTH ORDER OF CHILDREN
1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy.
2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.
3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.
_____________________________________________________
Preparing for the Birth:
1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.
2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing.
3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month.
______________________________________________________
The Layette:
1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.
2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.
3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?
______________________________________________________
Worries:
1st baby: At the first sign of distress--a whimper, a frown--you pick up the baby
2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn.
3rd baby: You teach your three-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.
______________________________________________________
Pacifier:
1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.
2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle.
3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.
______________________________________________________
Diapering:
1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour, whether they need it or not.
2nd baby: You change their diaper every two to three hours, if needed.
3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start to
complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.
_______________________________________________________
Activities:
1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, Baby Zoo, Baby Movies and Baby Story Hour.
2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.
3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaners.
_____________________________________________ _________
Going Out:
1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home five times.
2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to
leave a number where you can be reached.
3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.
______________________________________________________
At Home:
1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.
2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby.
3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from
the children
______________________________________________________
Swallowing Coins (a favorite):
1st child: When first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays
2nd child: When second child swallows a coin, you carefully
watch for the coin to pass.
3rd child: When third child swallows a coin you deduct it from his allowance!

Food for thought

Someone posted this at a blog that Mike read and he sent it to me- I dont think it would work but I know I could sure use the money. Read this....

"I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.Instead, I'm in favor of GIVING $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend. To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.Of course, it would NOT be tax free.So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college – it'll be there
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs
Invest in the market – capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance – health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ INCLUDING the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!

As for AIG – liquidate it!
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private-sector bargain-hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.

Can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC.

And remember, The plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam."

And this was my fathers response....

"Mike, in a perfect world this would work - but since our economy is tied to financial markets we have to save wall street to save main street. The AIG bailout is not a bailout - it's a government loan with an 80% equity stake in the company that the taxpayers have as security for that 85 billion dollars.

We need AIG (the largest Insurance company in North America) to keep the economy afloat since they not only insure individuals but also large business, banking and the housing industry. Insurance is very important in today's business world and a lot of industries and financial intuitions cannot operate without it. If the grease dries up, the wheels stop turning and everything is at a dead stop. Jobs will be lost and it will be 1929 all over again.

Comparing apples to apples - even if there was no pitfall to losing AIG, giving every citizen 425K would require every citizen giving the government an 80% stake in their assets and repaying the loan with interest, otherwise the budget deficit would just get worse and taxes would increase tremendously. Bad debt is what got us into this economic mess. This would just add more to the mess in the long run."

I highly doubt that this guys plan would work, but it would be nice right? My dad gives an interesting perspective to the other side of the equation.

Happy Halloween a little early....

There is always one drunk pumpkin on the bunch

A Season, A Reason or a Lifetime

Lately I have been missing lost friends and important people in my life who are not there anymore. A friend of mine said it perfectly, that sometimes we have to loose friends to make room for the new ones. And while it does make sense, it doesn't make the process any easier.

I had gotten this email months back and wanted to share it will all of you. When the "why's" become to much to handle, I read this and it helps....

People always come into you life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, or to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or even spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend to you, and they are. They are there for a reason, you need them to be.
Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die, Sometimes they just walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season. And like Spring turns to Summer and Summer to Fall, the season eventually ends.

Lifetime, relationships teach you a lifetime of lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a slid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway); and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas in your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being part of my life....

This is why I drink.....

I got this in an email and had to share....

Giving Up Wine
I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner. I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, 'If I give you this money, will you buy wine with it instead of dinner?' '

No, I had to stop drinking years ago' , the homeless woman told me.

'Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?' I asked.'No, I don't waste time shopping,' the homeless woman said. 'I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.

''Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?' I asked.'Are you NUTS!' replied the homeless woman. I haven't had my hair done in 20 years!

''Well, I said, 'I'm not going to give you the money. Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner with my husband a nd me tonight.'The homeless Woman was shocked.

'Won't your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.'

I said, 'That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.'

Rain Rain Go Away.....

Come again another weekend when we don't have fun stuff planned! So this weekend has been a wash...literally. Mike and I had fun tings planned including a carnival, kids museum and apple picking and things didn't go quite as planned.

Mike took Noah to a carnival last weekend when I was in Wildwood and he had so much fun. This was quite the surprise to me because Noah can be very Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. He LOVES the idea of doing things, but when its time to actually do it he isn't interested. Or we think he is going to totally HATE it and he loves it...he is 2...go figure!Originally we had planned on going to the kids museum in Norwalk because they had a Day of Play and it was FREE (the free part was the real reason we were going to go. We all need to save a buck and at $9 a person to get in, you can see why I jumped at the chance to go.) On the way there we decided we would go to the fair instead because it was opening in a half hour and we were eager to let Noah have some fun. We get there and go straight for the tickets and get Noah a unlimited rides wrist band so he can ride his little heart out. Well.....my kid doesn't want to ride any rides...not even the cool dumbo one. We are thinking "shit, we just dropped $20 bucks and he doesn't want to go on anything" Now we start hyping it up to him. "Look, its Dumbo, isn't that coooool" Mind you, he has no idea who Dumbo is. As I am looking at the height requirements I start thinking he isn't tall enough. And I'm right. You have to be 36 inches and my little man is only 33in. There was not ONE damn ride in the whole place he could ride. But I guess it didn't matter since he could have cared less and was more interested in eating. Luckily we didn't put the wristband on him and were able to get our money back.

They also had a lame kids area but I did manage to get a cute picture of Noah before he demolished Sponge Bob.

We decided it was time to leave and headed over to the animal shelter to "just look" I say this because there is no way to do just that. Chances are
we will find some cute little thing and want to take it home with us. I have been entertaining the idea of getting another cat for a while and have finally convinced Mike. While I love Cletus, she really isn't a cuddly cat. She has her own idea of what she wants and usually doesn't agree with mine. Plus Mike wanted to get a dog or at least look, so that's why we decided to go. Noah was so excited to see the kitties but Mike and I were alittle nervous one was going to take a swat at him and scratch his eye out. We found the cutest little kitty who looks just like our old one who died over a year ago. We filled out the papers and should hear back from them on Tues as to if we were excepted. Keep your fingers crossed.

Today we went to the Kids fair in Danbury which was kind of lame but Noah seemed to have fun. They advertised it as FREE but it wasn't. They have tables with things like face painting and arts and crafts which you have to have a ticket for, and you have to buy the tickets. Granted they were only 50 cents each, it still wasn't free. I was alittle pissed since I left all my money at home. Lucky my parents come with us and got tickets so Noah could make a cute little visor. I discovered he LOVES arts and craft and now know what I have to stock up on for the upcoming cold months. He also LOVES pink. I could care less if he does though, I mean who cares? We did get a free tattoo however Noah thought it was a sticker and was super PISSED when he realized it didn't come off. Mommy got one too which gave me a rash after I scrubbed it off. I guess I am glad he took it off because lord knows he does not need any more rashes on his skin.
Noah has recently been diagnosed with fifths disease and even though he seems fine, he looks like he is in pain. He isn't contagious which is good though.

Here are some pics from the Kids fair....

Can I have some extra muffin top with that oreo?

7 Favorite things about The Irish Festival

$10 bus ride

I have been back from Wildwood since Sunday but I haven't really had a chance to post on here because I have been busy at work...blah! So here is my update......

We got down there around 2ish Friday and decided to hit the beach...not to swim though seeing as it was windy as hell. The water was really warm though and we had to walk over 2 "rivers" to get to the actual ocean. Friday night we went out to eat and then hit the Irish festival. It took almost an hour to get there seeing as we had to ride the cool yellow school bus and make all these stops along the way. Friday night was filled with lots of laughs, beer and gross porta-potties. I never realized that women are SOOOO much more disgusting then men. Thank God almost everyone had hand sanitizer with them because it ranked in at 110 on the funk-o-meter.

Saturday we walked the boardwalk which was fun, but lost its excitement after the first 10 stores. I don't know why people see the need to go in EVERY store there when they all have the same crap? It baffles my mind. I ended up walking away with 2 sweatshirts and a sore back from all the waiting around.

That night we went back to the Irish Festival and I actually got to see the vendors this time, seeing as they all left by the time we got there on Friday. My new favorite thing about street fairs is meat on a stick and deep friend oreos! I know, you are probably thinking gross...I thought so too the first time I thought about an oreo being deep friend, but they are AWESOME! I probably gained about 20lbs from the one I ate but who cares....they were yummy! And so easy to eat while walking around.

Saturday night was an early night for me. Some girls went out drinking again, others went for a walk on the beach......I curled up in bed to watch CSI and Mystery Diagnosis. Thank God they didn't have some creepy story about a hotel murderer or I would have been locked in the bathroom.

The following morning we went out for breakfast and back to the boardwalk. I guess we missed something in the first 100 stores we went to. Being on vacation with 7 other girls definitely takes some getting used to, especially when no one has any conception of time and take FOREVER to get ready. I'm so easy: shit, shower, get dressed, hair in ponytail...lets go! I was SOOOO ready to go home after breakfast, I missed Mike and Noah and was so done with being on vacation. We didn't leave till 2pm and didn't get home till 7pm. I was relived that I had taken Monday off to relax and rest up before work.

It was a really fun trip with a lot of good memories and pictures to look back on.

Here is a glimpse......

On the boardwalk

I have a beach ball growing out of my ass

This was our car ride down...can you tell we were bored?
On the beach. It was so windy and beautiful

While we were waiting for the later car to arrive, this is how we passed our time....
And again....
We found a leprechaun at the Festival
On the special yellow bus on the way to do some drinking
Our first night our
Photo-jumper #321
We thought we were gangsta!

My bed buddy
Me and Kimmy Cakes
This guy was so nice and gave me some beads...and no I didnt have to show him my ta-ta's to get them
And of course he had to be in a picture with all us hot chicks

The End.

A Rant

Why is that some people just don't get it?

They go through life with no idea of how anyones life is affected by things and basically are only concerned with themselves and how they can benefit. Things are so easy for them so they can not possibly imagine why it isn't easy for someone else. Or, seeing as they are your friend, you think they will be more understanding...but they are not. In fact, sometimes they act worse then perfect strangers.

Its pretty sad if you ask me.

And whats even more sad is that I know a lot of people like this.

I am just so tired of expecting people to act a certain way because they are considered a "friend" and I am constantly being let down.

Maybe it is my fault. If you don't have expectations of other people you can never be let down. But I am only human and the truth is, I DO have expectations of people. I am not talking about crazy outlandish ones either....just basic friend etiquette that you were taught in grade school.

Can I also tell you how much I hate my neighbors? Why is it they feel the need to party at 2am on a SUNDAY when they know their is a 2 year old right above their living room who can hear EVERYTHING? Or 2 adults who have to wake up with that toddler when he freaks out due to thumping and hooting and hollering. Or I don't know, maybe we need to get some sleep so we can get up for WORK in the morning? They are so damn inconsiderate. Who in their right mind would leave a garbage bag full of empty beer cans in an OPEN bag by the garbage where our kid walks by everyday? Ding ding ding!! Our neighbors that's who!

And they real kicker is one of them has a 3 year old (not living with him of course)....And they know our kid walks by those nasty bear cans and cigarette buds on the floor. What would happen if he picked one up and sliced his finger open? You guys would be reading the paper and see "Parents locked up for kicking the crap out of stupid neighbors" and see a picture of Mike and I.

I just don't get how some people can go around with no clue as to whats going on around them.

I guess this will be my next topic in therapy.

A Hiatus

In less then 24 hours, I will be on my way to Wildwood with 2 car loads of girls....and no hubby or child anywhere in sight.....at least, not mine!  Although I will miss them both greatly for the 2.5 days I am away, I am sure I will have plenty to keep be preoccupied.....like the beach, cars, Irish stuff and DRINKS!

Don't miss me too much!  I will be back next week with some fun updates!

Shut up and enjoy it!

Is my child weird?

Last night Noah and I were singing and dancing along to his music from our Music Together class and a song came on where I pretend to be a horse and Noah sits on my lap and pretends to ride it.  After the first round, my legs and hips started to hurt from having my sweet little 30lb monster bouncing up and down on me, so I decided to modify the horse, and instead of putting my arms out in front, I was leaning on them behind my back (but I was still going through the motions of bouncing him all over the place)  He kept saying "arms in front Mommy, arms in front" but Mommy was hurting!  So instead of enjoying it the new "lazy Mommy way" he continued to whine about it over and over, until I got tired of hearing it and stopped.

Sometimes he seems so focused on what is NOT happening, he doesn't enjoy what IS.  Is this normal?  Meaning, do all toddlers do this?

It frustrates me at times because I try and show him new things and he seems like he could care less.  For instance when taking a bath, this is supposed to HIS time to relax, play with his toys, and splash water all over the place, but he is too concerned with what I am doing or NOT doing.  "Mommy sit down, Mommy get up, Mommy take this."  Its like enjoy your damn bath kid because then its going to be over and you are going to cry that we are getting out.  I tell him over and over again "Worry about yourself and not what everyone else is doing".....obviosly he doesn't get this.

In other news, he is adapting so well to his new big boy bed.  In the morning when he wakes up he will lay there, talk to himself or just relax till we come get him.  This morning was something new though, he woke up at 6:30, Mike went in and Noah asked for his binkie, Mike gave it to him and he got back in bed.  Then when I got up at 7 to go check on him and tell him I was getting in the shower, he was playing with his toys!  He never does this and I was so excited!  I feel bad that he lays there and waits for us but without any noise from him, we have no idea he is up.  I think he is like a bird when you put a blanket over their cage and they think its night time, since the curtains are closed maybe he thinks he should still be sleeping?  I am happy he discovered he can get up and play and at least entertain himself until we get up...which is great on the weekend when Mommy and Daddy want to sleep in!

The simple things in life

We moved over a year ago from an apartment with a washer and dryer to one that doesn't have one.  While we lived there we had to go up and down four flights of stairs to access it seeing as it was in the basement of our garden complex.  We loved the fact that we didn't have to go to the Laundromat anymore but still found reasons to complain about going up and down stairs.  Noah was not even walking at the time either, so lugging a kid and laundry was quite a pain in the you know what!

Now where we live does not have either of those, and we are  forced to go to the jam packed Laundromat and fight over washers, dryers and folding space....as well as deal with the interesting crowd that frequents them.

Note:  If you happen to be someone who DOES go to a Laundromat , please don't take offense to that comment. We live in a pretty suburban area and most people have those amenities except for the elderly, ethnic groups and crack heads (and this is based solely on the crowds I see there)  And I am sure there are people like Mike and I who are trying to raise a family and live our lives that go there, but I never seem to find those people.

Needless to say it is at least a 2 hour ordeal and one not suitable for a toddler....Trust me I know.  We brought him there a few times and it was a nightmare.  He was great for the first hour, then got ancy, then fell off the changing table into a cart...so yeah...not fun.  He picks up gross things off the floor and tries to escape any chance he gets.  I bet you are thinking "What is wrong with her for letting him play on those tables?"  Well, it kept him entertained and kept me sane, so yes, I was one of those mothers that you probably talk about when you see shit like this happening.

So my point you ask?  We desperately miss our washer and dryer and want it back!!  Good thing luck was in our favor, especially with the cold winter months ahead.  A co-worker of mine happens to be getting rid of his and is giving it to us.  He also has a truck to get it to our house.  Mike and I are so excited and cant wait to do laundry at our own place!!  This got me to thinking, how funny is it that we are getting excited over washing our clothes?  I mean a day at the spa, even a new flat screen TV I can understand...but  a washer and dryer?

Damn, this is a definite way to tell you are getting old!

7 years ago today

I was attending community college and getting ready for my classes, when I got a phone call to turn on the TV and that I would probably not be going to school today.  I cant remember who called me (either my mom or step-dad at the time)  but I tuned into the second plane crashing into The World Trade Center. It was surreal and devastating.

I was living only 30 mins from NYC at the time and seeing as I am a native New Yorker (the state, not the city), it really hit close to home for me.

Chapter 25

Dear Noah,

You celebrated your 25th month yesterday by peeing in your potty for the first time.  Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpappy are so proud of you!  I was looking at you the other day and you are looking more and more grown up as the days go by.  You had on your jeans, sneakers and T-shirt and I can almost imagine you running in the school yard when you are 10 and what you are going to look like.

This month has been one of great accomplishments for you beginning with getting rid if your binkie and just using it when you sleep. It was something I was very nervous to do because you were very VERY attached to that thing, but you have done wonderful.  And now, you even put it in your binkie box without us asking you to do so in the morning.....well, for the most part.  And going to the potty is your second accomplishment.  While I think we may be a while off from full potty training, you are well on your way.  We have even set up a potty chart for you so that everytime you tell us you went to the bathroom in your diaper, you get a sticker....and its works great.

Your teachers at school tell us on a daily basis how well you are doing and excelling.  They  even  refer to as their "challenge" because they show you something once and you get it right away.  So they have to stay on their toes with you and are constantly showing you new and exciting things.  This month you also transitioned to the "big kids" side in your classroom and are now with the 2-3 year olds.  Luckily your old room is separated by a short bookshelf and you get to see your favorite teacher and friends on the other side all day long, but you are still with your buddy Isabella who has been with you from your first move from the infant to toddler room.  Mommy and Daddy got some nice news from your teachers as well, that you are one of the only kids that have a nutritious lunch everyday.  That made us feel very happy that we are sending you with healthy choices.  Since we have become your parents, 25 months ago, there isn't a day that goes by that we don't question ourselves and if we are making the right descions for you, so to hear that your lunches are very healthy makes us know we really are doing a good job.

Your daddy got hurt at work this month so he has been home everyday, and although he has an injury, it has been great watching the 2 of you bond over the past few weeks.  He works a wacky schedule so our family time before was limited, but know he is home everynight and EVERY weekend.  The minute you wake up you ask for him and then rush in to "wake daddy"......it is adorable the bond that you 2 have developed.

I cant wait to come home and see your happy smiling face.

I love you Noah, forever and a day.

Love Mommy

feet and beef jerky part 2

I got in my car yesterday after work and to my amazement the stench was gone!  I did see some crumbled up cinnamon rolls plastic in the door jam...another lovely present from the better half, but couldn't find anything decomposing.  I emptied the nasty coffee cups when I got home and this morning it was still odor free.

So what was the mystery smell infecting my car?

I guess we will never know.......that is....untill next time it decides to rear its ugly smelly head.

my car smells like feet and beef jerky

This weekend we did alot of running around and I am afraid some small animal has crawled up into my car and died!  I has this gross smell  that must have been  festering all night long because when I opened the door this morning, it hit me like a ton of bricks.  Thank god Mike took Noah to school this morning otherwise he might not have survived the stench.

There were 2 coffee cups thanks to my wonderful better half for leaving me his garbage, but that was about it.  They are both from yesterday too and it wasn't that hot out, so I cant possibly imagine it is from spoiled milk.  Plus, I have smelled that smell one too many times thanks to lost baby bottles under the seats and that it not what it is.  I wish I could bottle this disgusting odor and have a science lab tell me what it is, however it might be too gross even for them.

However our friend was in town and one time he left a half eaten Big Mac in our car that we didn't find till a month later so maybe he is the culprit.

I will have to do some investigating tonight and see if I can track down the source.

A Recap

This weekend we were rained out Saturday evening which actually wasn't as bad as I thought. I mean we did have a tornado warning but it was 8pm and by that time we weren't going anywhere anyway. We were suppose to go to the Oyster Festival on Saturday but because of the bad weather that was coming we decided not to. And when the rain never came, we were really annoyed. However, I took Noah to the mall to play and ride carousel which was fun. Then we kept it low key, had a friend over and had some drinks.

After having Noah we kept in contact with a lot of our single friends and even acted as we were "child free" at times, meaning having people over at all sorts of the hour. Over the past year, our social lives have pretty much become non existent. For the majority, the few single, children less friends we have don't really understand what it is like to have a kid. Meaning, they come over and are either too interested in talking about themselves or don't understand I can not give them my undivided attention when I have a screaming toddler demanding it. Sorry but Noah comes first! When he goes to bed we can chat or expect to play with him because anytime there is a new person in the house, HE wants their attention. As Noah is getting older, he wants to be a part of fun as well. So before we might have listened to the kind of music WE like and talked about inappropriate things for children to hear while he laid on the floor amusing himself with lights and sounds. But now we listen to Disney's Choo Choo Soul over and over and over again and edit our conversations because he picks up on all of it. Its not just Mike and I and a baby. Its Mike, Loni and Noah and I feel like some people just don't get that.

But then there are the friends who completely get that (even though they don't have kids themselves) and we got to spend some time with them the last week which was really nice. It was nice to have company over who doesn't mind Mike and I ogling over Noah and are interested, as well as catching up with people who we don't get to see too often.

But getting back to the weekend. Sunday we went to the Taste of Danbury and we had amazing weather for it too. All the local restaurants have booths selling their foods which really weren't all that good. I had a chicken parm sandwhich which tasted like something out of the frozen food section at the supermarket and Noah had some gross pizza. Mike had Spanish food which was really good and then we had some over chocolaty ice cream. We meet my parents there too which was nice. Its always nice spending time together and luckily we live 5 mins from eachother so we get to do that often. They also had a firetruck that they were letting people go up on the ladder which was awesome and kinda funny that my dad and Gina are both afraid of heights but went up with us anyway. Mike stayed down to take pics and is also afraid of heights. I could have cared less about the height thing till the damn thing started shaking. Luckily it didn't last that long and I figured it was a firetruck with lots of firemen and police men around...how dangerous could it be?

One of the cops also opened up his car so Noah could sit inside and yell on the loud speaker. I y was really nice of him and I know Noah loved it!
