The best feeling in the world.....

Is carrying my little man to bed after falling asleep on the couch. I figured we would have a late nap today seeing as were on our way home at 2 and this was already an hour past his usual nap time. 2 mins into the ride, he passed out and I thought "shit...no nap for Noah, no rest for mommy" But I got him home and put him in bed. Apparently he laid there for 1.5 hours because just as I thought he was sleeping, I hear him singing...but some relaxation time is better the being overtired. We played, I vacuumed, we ate dinner and went for a walk. We settled down for some tv and I treated Noah to 2 different shows he loves while I chatted on the phone.

Its Saturday so i figured I would let him stay up later then usual but the little guy didn't even make it to 9pm. I looked over at him and he was fast asleep....so cute! This is so awesome for me to see because I used to take advantage of it when he was a baby. Now that he is older, he is all over there place and so restless, so getting him to actually fall asleep was priceless. I carried him to bed, walked into 2 loud toys that I kicked across the room and put him to bed without a peep.

I believe...

Just because two people argue,
doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...
We don't have to change friends if
we understand friends change.

I Believe....
no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt
you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe....
True friendship continues to grow, even over
the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I Believe....
You can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I Believe.....
it's taking me a long time
To become the person I want to be.

I Believe....
You should always leave loved ones with
loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe....
You can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
We are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
Either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...
Heroes are the people who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done, regardless of consequences.

I Believe...
Money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
My best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.

I Believe...
Sometimes the people you expect to kick you
When you're down will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
Sometimes when I'm angry, I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had
and what you've e learned from them, and less to do
with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...
It isn't always enough to be forgiven by others;
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself..

I Believe...
No matter how bad your heart is broken,The world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...
Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are,
but we are responsible for whom we become.

I Believe...
You shouldn't be so eager to find
out a secret. It could change your life forever.

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same
thing and see something totally different..

I Believe...
Your life can be changed in a matter of
hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...
Even when you think you have no more to give, when
a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
Credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe....
The people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

No news is sometimes good news

Well I went for my MRI yesterday and surprisingly was only there for an hour, between registering, waiting and getting it done...not bad!  They gave me the hard copies of the X-ray and now I have to wait for my doctor to look at them and then give me a diagnosis.  Which will probably go something like this "looks like you pulled something.  Don't lift anything heavy (IE. Small toddler at home) and rest"  Blah. Blah. Blah.

Two of my friends who are in the fitness industry tell me to stretch and that will help, yada yada.  But I have finally decided  to take their advice and I start my new "fitness routine" next Thurs!  I am hoping it helps and gets my fat, lazy ass into shape...cause lord knows I need it.  I have heard my friend is like a drill sergeant and doesn't take any shit.....yikes!

Miss fitness trainers orders....."Get it cleared with my doctor before doing any workout program"  Follow up appointment is next Tues.

Impe...what?

Impetagio.....yup, that's what Noah has. He had some pimple looking things on his face last week and I just figured they were, well, pimples. I was out eating with the folks and noticed Noah putting all sorts of dirty stuff in his mouth, like cars that fell on the dirty, nasty fast food restaurant floor...Gag me! I said he better stop doing that or he is going to have some nasty mouth rash and what do you know? He DOES!

Mike brought him to the doctor Monday and that's what he was diagnosed with. So yes my friends, I have a little dirt licker on my hands. I don't think it bothers him but it looks disgusting. The doctor gave us oral antibiotics and we have to put cream on his face before bed. It seems to be getting better but he was banned from school for 2 days because he was contagious.

Um....he went Friday and had the same thing. The didn't tell us to take him home? I hope there isn't an outbreak at daycare thanks to him and his unaware mother.

So Monday both Noah and I were extending our weekend. Him, because of his rash and me, because of my back. I was in so much pain Sunday that I went to the ER in hopes of a diagnosis or help. But what did they do? No X-ray. No MRI. Just loaded me up with pain killers and sent me on my way. Gee thanks doc! I have had back issues for a while now, maybe a year. I go see a chiropractor weekly but it doesn't really seem to be eliminating the problem, just dulling it for a while. I went to see him Friday and as he went to crack my back, he left tears in my eyes. Sunday I woke up and felt even worse so it was off to the ER for me. I went to an orthopedic Monday and they said my spine looks fine, maybe a pinched nerve? No one knows anything. They gave me prednisone and scheduled me for an MRI tonight. Hopefully they can tell me something because the painkillers don't work, the prednisone isn't doing anything and I am still in pain. Factor all this in with a 2.5 year old who weighs 30lbs and wants to be carried makes for a very cranky, sore Mommy.

Can I just tell you how much I HATE pantyhose but love smaller sizes?

I haven't been shopping in a while and decided to treat myself to some retail therapy.  Its good for the soul AND sanity.

So I went to the mall, which is a place I have tried to avoid for the longest time unless its to take Noah to the play area.  Lets face it, shopping with a toddler is a nightmare...Pure. Hell.  That is, unless I am not there for anything specific and if my child would actually sit in his stroller.

So anyway, went shopping and found some really cute stuff.  And it was all smaller then I had expected.  I actually bought 3 shirts size SMALL!  I am far from a small. but I guess spending more money on clothes then I am used to, gives you a better quality and with that, a SMALLER size.  Granted the price I paid for one shirt I could have gotten 3 on sale at Kohls.....but they wouldn't have been a size small.  And that my friends, is very positive for my self esteem.  I mean, who wouldn't want to be a that size after having a kid (one who is almost 3 so its not like I can blame it on baby weight anymore.  More like lack of motivation and pure laziness)  Maybe the fact that I am still stuck shopping in the juniors sections when I do buy stuff has something to do with it?  I cant help it, their stuff is just much cuter and trendy and I refuse, REFUSE to wear Mom Jeans.  However, in juniors I am an XL....lord help me!  Makes me just wanna cry!

So what to do?  Spend more money on cute, hip and SMALLER sizes less frequently, or less money and feel like a fat ass?  You men have no idea how lucky you are that you don't have to deal with this.

Which brings me to my second topic:  Pantyhose.    HATE. THEM.!

They rip, feel funny and plan old suck!.  I have them on today and I feel like they are falling off, but I am too afraid to try and pull them up in case they rip.  Then I will have a rip in my hose, and look like a cheap hooker....not very good for office attire. However, it may be good for a promotion.  Why not ditch the pantyhose you ask?  Well for starters, casual attire is not really liked in the office till after memorial day.  That's when we can wear open toed shoes.  And heels with no socks or hose just makes your feet sweaty and smell really REALLY bad...trust me. I know.  I KNOW. And so do some of my co-workers.

So with that said, time get some work done and air out my shoes.

Things I have learned as a parent #840

Poop is not meant to go down shower drains.  It clogs them and then you have to come up with interesting ways to dislodge it including q-tips and plungers.

A run down.....

Some of Noah's favorites

1.  Feeding Marley and Cletus and giving  them treats.  He is responsible for giving them food in the morning and evening.  Well, he holds the bowl, I dump the food in and then clean up the mess on the floor....including the split water.

2.  Cars, trucks, airplanes, helicopters, trains, boats and anything else that "goes"

3.  Brushing his teeth and sucking all the toothpaste off while I continue to put more on for him.

4.  Doing everything by himself....or at least trying to.

5. Helping me with the laundry and throwing out the garbage.

6.  Playdates with his buddies Lucas, Mason, Carson and new friend Connor.

7.  Caiilou and the Movie Cars

8. Taking showers in the tub and letting me blow dry his hair....he is getting so big!

9.  Cheesing it up for the camera.

10.  Doing this little dance while playing "Santa Claus is coming to town"  He shakes his booty and jumps around.

11.  Pasta, eggs, hot-dogs, apple sauce, meatballs, peanut butter and jelly and pasta. Seriously, he could eat pasta and PB &J everyday if I let him.

12.  Cuddling in bed with Mommy for hours in the morning.

13.  Bunny, Cocoa, Caillou, and Froggy....his stuffed animal posse.

14.  His binkie (s)  I only give them to him at naptime and bedtime, but sometimes he will go and get both of them, put them in his mouth and get in his bed....in the middle of the day.

15.  Goodnight Moon

16.  Going to see Dr Rachel and getting his pretzel.

17.  Running around parking lots having Mommy chase him...clearly not one of MY favorites.

Noah dislikes

1. Veggies.  Although now I hide them in my meatloaf or burgers and he eats them...but doesn't know it.

2.  Getting out of bed and ready for school.

3.  The sound of the train in the morning.

4.  Leaving school

And I am sure there are a bunch of other things he doesn't like, but for the most part, he is pretty open to things once he warms up to them.
